The goal was to transform a collection of short-form content produced throughout the year into an engaging, all-in-one e-book-style web experience. As the lead designer, I collaborated with the content and growth marketing teams to create a visually stunning and interactive digital experience that stood apart from the core .com site.

The primary challenges of the project included: ◦ Translating multiple pieces of short-form content into a cohesive, engaging, and easily navigable web experience. ◦ Developing a unique look and feel, distinct from the main AppDirect .com site, to position the guide as a high-value evergreen resource. ◦ Integrating motion and interaction design to captivate users and enhance engagement with the content.

To tackle these challenges, the following solutions were implemented: ◦ Designed an interactive, e-book-style web experience tailored to the long-form nature of the guide, emphasizing clarity and flow. ◦ Established a custom motion and illustration design system from 0 → 1 to create moments of delight and differentiate the guide. ◦ Partnered with a third-party vendor to ensure seamless development, facilitating a smooth design handoff with comprehensive documentation and guidance. ◦ The project’s bespoke design and innovative approach earned it a nomination for Awwwards’ Site of the Day.
